Take advantage of the options to prepay your student's meal accounts. Prepaid meal accounts help the lunch lines go faster and give students more time to eat, relax, and enjoy their break. It also gives you the peace of mind of not having to worry about looking for lunch money every day or worry that it might get lost, stolen or used for other things other than lunch.
If you feel you need assistance paying for student meals, you may fill out a Free/Reduced Meals Application to see if you household qualifies. Application packets are mailed to every household by early August each year. However, completed applications are accepted throughout the school year. A current application can be found at your student's school office, cafeteria or the Child Nutrition Services Department at the Education Center (830 N. Capitol Avenue), or may be downloaded by clicking on: Free/Reduced Meal Application. Complete only one application per household and for quickest processing, bring the complete application to the Education Center. The result letter will be mailed to your home.
Parents are encouraged to pay for meals in advance. The lunch price is $3.25 for lunch and $1.75 for breakfast.
Cash or Check
Cash or checks are accepted at all schools. Checks can be issued to East Side Union High School District Child Nutrition Services (ESUHSD CNS). Please write your child's name on the check so it can be easily identified. Please note that a bank fee of $40.00 may be charged to your child's account for non-sufficient funds.
Send Check or Cash
You can always bring money personally or send it with your student. Turn in prepaid deposits to the kitchen manager at your child's school.
NO student will be denied a meal due to lack of funds in their meal account. Students who forget their money for lunch or breakfast or their meal account balance runs out of funds, will be able to receive a full meal. Balances owed will be communicated to the parent or guardian every 10 days.
